The Oakton pHTestr BNC is the world's first microprocessor based instrument in its size and class with a BNC electrode connection and represents the next generation of pocket pH testers. Because it has a BNC electrode connection, the pHTestr BNC can be used with many different types of electrodes, making it suitable for a broad range of applications, even highly specialized ones. Just select the pH electrode best suited to the application, connect to the pHTestr BNC, calibrate and read - it's that easy!
Match this unit up with the flathead electrode and you will have an unbeatable combination for measuring items that a standard pH tester can't even touch.
PLEASE NOTE: This unit does not have automatic temperature compensation. What this means in real use is that the accuracy of this unit will vary if the temperature of the test solution is more than 10%± from room temperature, and will vary even more if the pH of the test solution is at the extremes of the scale.
ELECTRODES FOR PhTestr BNC
- The direct connecting electrode (see picture) connects directly to the pH meter (no cable). This electrode is gel filled and has a 12 mm dia. This is a good general purpose electrode for use in clean solutions with a pH range of 0-12.
- The flat surface measuring electrode is available in both direct connecting or with a 3 foot cable that allows the actual electrode to be 3 feet from the pH meter. This electrode is especially designed for use on flat surfaces, gels, or where sample volume is very low. This is a great electrode for paper conservators.
The electrodes listed above are: sealed (non-refillable), 12mm in dia., gel filled, are for general lab use, have an epoxy body for ruggedness, have a max. temp. range of 175°F, and a pH range of 0-12 pH. They are all wet electrodes, which means the tip must be kept in an electrode solution at all times when not in use.
