Disposable syringes are ideal for injecting adhesives and consolidants into areas that are difficult to reach during conservation related treatments. Smaller syringes using small gauge needles are ideal for treatment of loose and flaking paint chips and also repairing of lifting wood veneers. The larger syringes with large gauge needles are useful when more volume of material is needed for consolidation of plaster or the repair of loose furniture joints with hide glue. If needed, the contents in the syringe may be heated to reduce the fluids viscosity for easier flow through the needle. The syringes are made of a tough, clear polypropylene, have clearly marked graduations and have a rubber tipped plunger. With proper cleaning, syringes can be reused many times over. These Luer-Lok style tipped syringes use disposable Luer-Lok syringe needles that come in a variety of sizes and lengths that are sold separately. Packaging quantities vary per syringe size.
Syringe Caps are now available which are ideal for capping off and sealing any of our Luer-Lock type syringes. If you ever need to save the left over contents, or pre-fill syringes for future use, these caps will seal the syringe air tight.
